Everyday this week… Brett Rounsaville brings us the Weirdest Survival Stories ever told.

Wenseslao Moguel is that the guy you never need to run into at a cocktail party…and not simply because of his hideous, gag inducing face. In fact, he plays a distinguished half in my worst nightmare, if in some way, then a minimum of in spirit.

Imagine if you will: you’re regaling the audience at giant together with your adventurous tales of daring do. you have gottheir full attention with the story regarding it slow spent in Nevada racing ostriches, you weave a tale of marvel together with your droop gliding exploits, finally you have got their complete admiration as you define you time spent living on the streets and on different people’s couches as you wander the country with none meaningful possessions like some form of very selfish Kane. But then, it happens.

Wenseslao Moguel steps slowly out from the shadows letting light-weight fall ever thus gently on his disfigured face. Somehow, everybody realizes for the primary time that he’s within the space and his mere visage brings the laughter and carousing right down to a muted hush. He whispers only 1 sentence.

“I was shot 9 times by a firing squad, and yet again within the face to confirm my death.”

HOW AM I (er…I mean…ARE YOU) presupposed to prime THAT STORY?!?1?!

Allow me to line the stage. The year: 1915. The verdict: guilty. The revolution: Mexican.

Wenseslao (or Wenny because the youngsters within the faculty yard presumably known as him) is sentenced to deathwhile not trial for his role as a soldier within the revolution. once being shot repeatedly he manages to attend till his executioners leave and somehow makes his thanks to safety and treatment. (I will solely assume he ran across the Mexican wildernesses equivalent of Dr. McDreamy’s skilled surgical hands.)
